Speakers announced ahead of IWD19 lunch

An all-star line-up of speakers has been announced for the Change Our Game International Women's Day lunch on 8 March 2019, to explore the theme Women in Sport and the Media.

Director of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation, Dr Bridie O’Donnell today revealed the speakers, headlined by leading radio and TV sports broadcaster Tracey Holmes.

Tracey's 30 year career in television and radio has included many impressive roles both in Australia and overseas.

She was Australia's first woman to host a national sports programme, was a media advisor for the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, and has co-hosted the SBS presentation of the FIFA World Cup.

Tracey is currently a presenter on ABC news radio and hosts her own weekly sports podcast, The Ticket.

She will join our fantastic line-up of speakers on a panel at the lunch discussing ideas and insights around how we can level the playing field for women and girls across all levels of sport and recreation.

The panel includes a broad range of industry professionals with varying backgrounds across a range of sports:

  • Mel Jones OAM - Former Australian cricketer, leading international cricket commentator and Change Our Game Ambassador
  • Stef Hanson - Director and Founder of WITSUP.com (women in triathlon)
  • Pat Shaw - Former professional cyclist and leading cycling commentator
  • Steve Whately – Director of Consulting at Nielsen Sports & Entertainment

The Office for Women in Sport and Recreation is excited to be working with Victoria University who are a supporting partner for this event. Tickets are now on sale - this is an event not to be missed.
