Change our Game Ambassador: Monique Hanley

As an athlete, Monique had a very successful road and track cycling career, racing professionally in the USA. Prior to this, she rode across Canada, chased the Tour de France solo, and raced as the only woman in a team that won Race Across America (RAAM) in 2007 setting a new course record.

Monique is a passionate advocate for equity in cycling, having previously chaired Cycling Australia’s Women’s Commission and Cycling Victoria’s Women and Girls’ Commission. She has experience in driving many policy changes within cycling including leading Victoria to become the first region in the world to mandate equal prize money in 2013.

Monique advises on strategic change, teaches entrepreneurship, and is currently undertaking research on the effectiveness of gender equity investments in sport as an Integrated PhD student at Victoria University.
