Rebekah Webster is the first woman to be appointed the Director of High Performance at the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS) since its inception.

Webster has close to 15 years of experience in high-performance, starting her career at Netball South Australia and the Adelaide Thunderbirds before crossing the border to Netball Victoria, as the General Manager for the Vixens Performance and Pathways.

She was an integral member of the Vixens community, navigating the side through the challenges of the pandemic and guiding them to premiership glory in 2020.

Webster took up a new challenge with the VIS in 2022, as General Manager High Performance, overseeing archery, diving, hockey and wheelchair basketball.

Her new appointment as Director, echoes the VIS’ commitment to gender equality, with 60% of the VIS Board and Directors women.

“The VIS is a leader in gender balance in high-performance sport. We are committed to creating and reaffirming a gender inclusive culture that empowers our people and encourages diversity within our organisation.” VIS CEO, Nicole Livingstone OAM said.

You can read more about Webster’s appointment on the VIS website.
