Feel like tuning into watch women's sport but not sure what's on? Here is a quick wrap of what's on this week.

8 representatives at the WNBL season launch at Footlocker ahead of Round 1

There is no shortage of sport to watch, with 3 of the major leagues within Australia kicking off over the next week.

WBBL (cricket)

Season starts: Sunday 27 October

Defending champion: Adelaide Strikers

What to know: After representing Australia in the T20 World Cup, keep an eye out for Beth Mooney, who is pulling on the kit for the Perth Scorchers. Her Australian teammates Alyssa Healy and Elyse Perry join forces once again for the Sydney Sixers. There are also plenty of internationals set to grace the league with the likes of New Zealanders Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine, both fresh off the White Ferns’ drought breaking Women’s T20 World Cup title.

WNBL (basketball)

Season starts: Wednesday 30 October

Defending champion: Southside Flyers

What to know: New team Geelong United Basketball joins the league. They are led by their inaugural recruit Jaz Shelley, who returns to Geelong after a 5-year stint playing college basketball in the States. Meanwhile reigning champions Southside Flyers are a hot favourite, captained by Opal Olympic bronze medalist Bec Cole. Oh and not to mention the WNBL’s exciting new signing - former WNBA no.1 draft pick Charli Collier suiting up for UC Capitals.

How to watch: There’ll be 2 games of the round, with WNBL Wednesdays on ESPN and a Sunday Showcase on 9GO. All other games will be available on Nine’s free digital channel, 9Now.

A-League Women (soccer)

Season starts: Friday 1 November

Defending champion: Sydney FC

What to know: The 23-round season has 12 teams vying for championship glory. You won’t have to wait long to see the Melbourne Derby in action with Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City going head-to-head in Round 2 at AAMI Park. There’s a multitude of young guns to keep a watchful eye on including Young Matildas goalkeeper Sally James who will pull on the jersey for Canberra United. Former Matildas goalkeeper Lydia Williams will continue with Melbourne Victory, holding 4 Goalkeeper of the Year award titles.

How to watch: There will be free-to-air matches on 10 Bold throughout the season and you can tune in to all other matches via Paramount+ and free through 10 Play.

Who to follow for A-League news: A-leagues commentator Georgia Rajic and Marisa Lordanic.

Netball

And if that’s not enough to choose from, there is also netball’s biggest rivalry, the Constellation Cup. The Australian Diamonds find themselves in unfamiliar territory after dropping the first 2 games to trans-Tasman rivals, New Zealand Silver Ferns. Set to return to our shores for Game 3 and 4, the Diamonds will be looking to peg back the margin to retain their Constellation Cup title. All eyes will be on captain Liz Watson to steer her side to victory with stalwarts Courtney Bruce, Jo Weston and Paige Hadley also key cogs to the Diamonds team.

How to watch: The final 2 games of the Constellation Cup will be streamed on Kayo and Foxtel on Sunday 27 October and Wednesday 30 October.

Who to follow for news: Hannah Kuhar, Georgia Rajic and Tara Murray

AFLW (Australian rules football)

The AFLW is hotting up, with 2 rounds in the regular season before finals. This weekend is Indigenous Round, with Richmond playing Essendon in Darwin for AFLW’s first Dreamtime game in the Northern Territory. Hawthorn has secured a finals berth for the first time in their history while North Melbourne will be looking to solidify their standings atop the ladder. The tussle for finals will continue to intensify with Melbourne just outside the 8, while old foes Collingwood and Carlton are set to battle it out on Sunday afternoon.

How to watch: you can tune into the round across various platforms including Foxtel, Kayo, 7Mate or if the radio is more your style the ABC and WARF radio will also be covering the round.
