Community Activation Grants
2023-24 Community Activation Grants Program is NOW CLOSED.
Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support community sport and recreation clubs.
The grants aim to increase participation and enhance gender equality in sport and active recreation.
STREAMS
- Stream 1 - Participation: deliver activities that increase participation for women and girls. (up to $5,000 or up to $10,000)
- Stream 2 - Capability: build capability and leadership in gender equality policy and practice. This includes training and knowledge in the access and use of community sports infrastructure. Capability enhancements should be in line with the Fair Access Policy Roadmap. (up to $5,000 or up to $10,000)
- Stream 3 - Community Leaders: access professional development opportunities for women and girls. (up to $5,000)

Applications are encouraged to support the equitable inclusion of women and girls from all background and experiences and to promote and elevate women and girls in sport and recreation.
In the past, activities and events spanned a wide range of sports including:
- - baseball
- - canoeing
- - golf
- - gymnastics
- - ice hockey
- - lawn bowls
- - lifesaving
- - rowing
- - surfing
- - tennis
In a previous round, Benalla Golf Club received funding for 75 women and girls to participate in Fun on the Fairways, a girls in golf program aimed at increasing participation.
The Golf Club gained a 20% increase in competition rounds played by women. Attendees learnt basic golf skills, game play and course etiquette in a fun way.
