Community Activation Grants
The Office for Women in Sport and Recreation (OWSR) is increasing the number of women and girls participating in sport and active recreation, from grassroots through to senior leadership roles. Through OWSR’s Change Our Game initiative, the sport and active recreation sector is being encouraged to challenge gender stereotypes and help women and girls fully participate.
To support this change, the Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program (the Program) funds one-off community level events that celebrate the role of women and girls in sport and active recreation.
The Program provides funding of up to $10,000 to successful applicants. Organisations can submit one application to one of the following streams:
- Stream 1 - Participation (up to $5,000)
- Stream 2 - Organisation or club training or development (up to $5,000)
- Stream 3 - Showcasing achievements (up to $10,000)
Activities can be open to the whole community (e.g., activities are not required to be women- or girls-only).
Community and grassroots-level organisations delivering sport and active recreation programs anywhere in Victoria may apply to the Program. State Sporting Associations, State Sport and Recreation Bodies, and Local Government Authorities and private entities must apply in partnership with a community- or club-level organisation. In the event of a partnership, the community or grassroots-level organisation must lead and submit the application and demonstrate some level of involvement in participating in, and/or delivering the nominated activity.
Application are currently closed.
