2023-24 Change Our Game Research Grants Program is NOW OPEN
The 2023-24 Change Our Game Research Grants program supports Victorian university researchers to undertake research relating to women and girls in sport and active recreation.
It provides grants of up to $25,000 for Victorian university researchers to identify tangible, evidence-based solutions to address barriers for women and girls in sport and active recreation in Victoria.
The program also aims to support the career development of early career researchers with an interest in gender equality in sport and active recreation.
In 2023-24, funding is available for research projects across three streams, with six areas of interest specifically identified:
- Stream 1 – Participation in Community Sport and Active Recreation
- Fair access to community facilities
- Active recreation participation
- Sport participation as a driver of future career success
- Stream 2 – Women in Sport Leadership
- Gender equality in the sport job market
- Retaining women leaders in sport
- Stream 3 – Visibility of Women in Sport
- Women in sports media
Across all streams, applications are encouraged to apply an intersectional lens. Applications that fully consider the ways in which inequalities interact, and that address these inequalities, will be viewed favourably. Applications that align with the streams but sit outside of the areas of interest will still be considered.
