Women in Sports Media

The Change Our Game Women in Sports Media Program is designed to provide women who are interested in sports media the knowledge, skills and industry contacts to progress their career in this industry.

More visibility of women in sports media can help challenge and break down outdated stereotypes.

This program, delivered by Making The Call, paves the way for women to break into and progress within the sports media industry to shape the stories that are told across Victoria.

In 2022-23, only 27% of sports news bylines in Victoria were contributed by women.

Since 2020, we’ve proudly supported more than 100 women to progress their career in the sports media industry.

Sport is covered in our media more than any other topic. This program is ensuring more women are shaping that conversation and building their careers across the full spectrum of sports media.
